As a key contractor team, KP Civils supported National Grid Electricity Distribution with the installation of two new 33kV circuits through pre-installed 200mm Emtelle ducts. The 7km route comprised two 33kV circuits (three cables per circuit), much of which crossed challenging agricultural terrain.

Working closely with NGED and the appointed Wayleave Officer, KP Civils managed excavation, duct installation, joint bay preparation, cable laying, jointing, reinstatement, and full programme coordination to align with client operations and access requirements. The energisation of these circuits will provide critical power infrastructure for Agratas’ new electric vehicle battery manufacturing facility at the Gravity Smart Campus near Bridgwater, Somerset - one of the UK’s largest planned battery production sites and a key step toward sustainable energy.

To manage winter conditions and uneven terrain, KP Civils utilised Dura Base matting to create a stable, safe, and environmentally protective working platform, reducing ground disturbance and improving efficiency.
